You don’t need us to convince you that Emma Watson is a literal princess, but here are a few reasons in case you forgot. From the graceful way she handled that ‘Vanity Fair’ controversy to being the Book Fairy that NYC needed on International Women’s Day, here’s why Em is our star of the week.
Emma Watson, 26, can do no wrong, and fortunately for fans, she’s been everywhere lately due to the upcoming release of Beauty and the Beast. Here are five reasons why Emma is on our radar this week!
1. That time she left books and handwritten notes in NYC for International Women’s Day.
Yep, Emma snuck around New York on March 8 in partnership with the Book Fairies, a non-profit that promotes literacy, to stash books at memorials and monuments. So cool!

2. The way she responded to her topless Vanity Fair cover criticism.
When people accused Emma of betraying her feminist values by posing for Vanity Fair with her breasts only half covered, she stood up for herself. “It just always reveals to me how many misconceptions and what a misunderstanding there is about what feminism is,” she explained in an interview with Reuters. “Feminism is about giving women choice. Feminism is not a stick with which to beat other women with. It’s about freedom, it’s about liberation, it’s about equality. I really don’t know what my tits have to do with it.” PREACH!
3. When she took on the Beyhive to defend herself once again.
Beyonce fans also called Emma a hypocrite when it comes to feminism, and they took some comments that she made about Bey in a 2014 interview out of context. Emma then took to Twitter to show everyone how when you look at the whole interview, you can tell that she wasn’t insulting Beyonce willy-nilly:

4. How she opened up about the challenges she faced singing for her first major musical role.
Emma said doing her own dancing and singing for Beauty and the Beast was one of the hardest things she’s ever done. “There’s nothing to hide behind. It’s your voice and yeah, I felt very sort of naked doing it for the first time so I think that was the hardest,” she said in an interview with Good Morning America. We think Emma did just fine, and we applaud her for being transparent about her fears! Check it out:

5. The revelation that she was quite naughty on the set of Harry Potter, which gave us a much-needed laugh in these trying times.
“I would ruin takes! I was such a loser!”
