‘Saturday Night Live’ star Pete Davidson took to Instagram on March 6 to share some huge news: he has stopped doing drugs and is sober for the first time in 8 years. Read his emotional message right here.
“I quit drugs and am happy and sober for the first time in 8 years,” Pete Davidson, 23, wrote on Instagram. See his full message below:
Pete, who joined the Saturday Night Live cast in 2014, and is the youngest current member, has spoken about his health struggles in the past. He has revealed that he used medical marijuana to treat Crohn’s disease, which he was diagnosed with at 18. “My stomach would be in pain all day and I wouldn’t be able to eat, but then I’d smoke and I can eat and do my shows,” he said in a 2016 interview. “I wouldn’t be able to do SNL if I didn’t smoke weed. I wouldn’t be able to do anything, really. Me performing not high has gone awful. It’s awful for me, because I don’t feel well,” he added. We’re glad to see that Pete is doing well these days.
