2. When is it on?
The miniseries will premiere on Feb. 27 at 9 p.m. ET on ABC. The rest of the episodes will air nightly from March 1 to March 3.
3. Who is starring in it?
Guy Pearce, Mary-Louise Parker, Rachel Griffiths, Carrie Preston, Michael K. Williams, Kevin McHale, and Dylan Walsh all star in When We Rise. The miniseries will also feature appearances by Whoopi Goldberg, Rosie O’Donnell, Denis O’Hare, David Hyde Pierce, T.R. Knight, Phylicia Rashad, and Rob Reiner.
4. Why is the rest of miniseries skipping over Feb. 28?
When We Rise will not air on Feb. 28 due to live coverage of President Donald Trump’s address to a joint session of Congress. Yes, Donald is messing up TV once again.
5. Creator Dustin Lance Black hopes this inspires American to use their voice for change in today’s turbulent world.
“I think what we’re hearing particularly from the Republican party is so dangerous that I hope this show arms average Americans and families to have the language and to have the stories to push back against the kind of hateful, divisive speech we’ve started hearing the last three years,” he told our sister site Variety. “Part of what I’ve learned just by listening is, sadly, this is going to be more timely than I thought when I started writing it.”
