Run, bull, run! NYC was transfixed as a daring bull escaped from a slaughterhouse and cruised around the Jamaica neighborhood of Queens for hours. Cops couldn’t catch the sneaky guy no matter what they did. See his triumphant race through Queens here!
New Yorkers were equal parts impressed and dumbfounded when a rogue bull galloped down the streets of Jamaica, Queens on February 21. The animal was running from imminent danger at a slaughterhouse in the neighborhood, and didn’t care who was in his path! Cue a hilarious, hours-long police chase through the streets of the city and its suburbs. Who knew bulls moved so fast?
There’s something about seeing a parade full of cop cars and men on foot running down the street, yelling at a cow, that just makes your day. Forget every high speed car chase on the freeway you’ve ever seen; this was the most intense drama the police have had to deal with. At one point, the big guy was sprinting down Sutphin Blvd, nearing Jamaica Station. For those not available with the area, that’s a large train station that also provides public transit connections to JFK airport. He’s getting away!!
Our brave bovine hero took several breaks to chill in people’s front lawns and have himself a little nap and a grassy snack. When cops thought they had him, he sprinted away. Sorry, dudes! But unfortunately, after hours of chase, the police managed to capture him around 12:20pm ET. Even worse, arial shots of the scene showed people in blue smocks approaching him while he was lying on the ground….slaughterhouse workers. We’re devastated. After that hot pursuit, this fella deserves the greenest pastures and all the good life brings. We’ll never forget him!
