We couldn’t be more excited to see Emma Watson take on the role of Belle on the big screen but we were totally shocked when she stepped out in a blue frock for a photocall to promote the film in Paris, marking the first official event for the film.
Belle’s yellow ballgown looks like it was made for Emma Watson, 26, and we would by lying if we said we didn’t expect to see the star to break out a slew of yellow dresses while promoting the highly-anticipated film. We’ve been waiting with baited breath to see the actress light up the red carpet in one sunny frock after another — but judging by her look for her first official appearance promoting the film, we shouldn’t hold our breath!

Emma stepped out in Paris for a photocall for the film on Feb. 20, where she looked beautiful in a blue dress, which was custom-made by Nicolas Ghesquiere for Louis Vuitton. Not only did her dress drape beautifully around her figure, but it was also eco-friendly — and we love the way she used her platform to spread awareness. “The dress fabric is Newlife recycled polyester, created from used plastic bottles. These are sourced, mechanically processed and spun into yarns in Italy, with a fully traceable supply chain. This saves energy and reduces CO2 emissions compared to creating brand new polyester fibre,” the actress chronicled in her new Instagram account, The Press Tour.
The last actress to reprise the role of an iconic Disney princess was Lily James, who played Cinderella in the 2015 film — and she sported a slew of Cinderella-esque dresses every time she stepped out promoting the film!
Yellow has been the color of awards season with a slew of A-listers rocking the hue on the red carpet at major shows — and we’re sure it’s only a matter of time before Emma sports the shade. Regardless of whatever color she wears we’re so excited to see her slay, both on the red carpet and the big screen.
What did you think of her blue dress? Are you loving the look or do you wish she wore yellow?
