Charlie Hunnam may have died at the end of ‘Sons of Anarchy,’ but it doesn’t mean that he’s completely done with the franchise. In a new interview, he actually revealed that there’s a chance he’ll be back!
“If they call me, if they want me to do a little dream sequence, I’ll do a little dream sequence,” Charlie Hunnam told TMZ when they asked about the possibility of showing up on the Sons of Anarchy spinoff, Mayans M.C.. “I love Kurt [Sutter]. I’d do anything with Kurt, I love that guy. But I think I’m dead.”
Okay so to be fair, Charlie’s character Jax Teller did die at the end of Sons of Anarchy, but we all know that everyone would like to see more of Charlie! The spinoff, currently in production at FX, is described as “a dark, visceral family drama that takes a new look at the most American of icons, the 1% outlaw, this time, reflected through a Latino lens.”
Kurt is of course the creator of the series and has brought on writer Elgin James as well. “I wanted to find a strong, unique Latino voice,” Sutter said regarding his hiring of James. “Because I didn’t think a white guy from Jersey should be writing about Latin culture and traditions. Elgin is that voice.
Kurt also revealed he would like to bring back some other familiar faces. “It’s the same [biker] subculture, but it’d be interesting to see the influences of [Hispanic] culture and how it impacts the subculture we already understand,” he told our sister publication, Deadline. “I would do a contemporary piece, not a prequel, and place it far enough away from Northern California that it wouldn’t step on the mythology that’s already been told. It doesn’t mean that there couldn’t be some cool, ironic crossovers with familiar characters as the series progressed. I wouldn’t want to set it too close to the world we already know, and step on that… My intent is, over the hiatus I’ll initiate a script for the pilot and take it from there.”
What do you think, HollywoodLifers? Do you want Charlie to make an appearance on Sons of Anarchy?
