It’s been three years since Paul Walker’s untimely death, but Vin Diesel remembers every moment with his ‘brother’ like it was yesterday. In an emotional interview, Vin reflected on the terrible loss.
We can’t believe it’s already come to the third anniversary of Paul Walker’s tragic death. We knew him as the talented actor and car enthusiast, but his Fast & Furious costar Vin Diesel, 49, knew him on so many different levels, and still misses him several. During a press day at Comic Con Brazil on Dec. 1, Vin spoke to Entertainment Tonight about spending three years without Paul and how he’s been coping with his absence.
“We’ve felt the loss,” Vin told ET of Paul’s death. “The last three years have been some of the hardest of my life because of losing my brother like that.” The action star also admitted that he teared up on the day Paul passed on Nov. 30, but he leaned on the rest of his Fast & Furious family for support. “It was a lot of tissues,” he added. “It was a hard morning for me yesterday because I was here. But the irony is the whole cast reached out and his daughter, Meadow, reached out and all that stuff helps you get through it.” This is SO sad!
Vin admitted it was hard being in Brazil because he had always travelled there with Paul in the past. “I’d been to Brazil two times before and both times that I’ve been here, I’ve always been with my brother, Pablo,” he said, using the nickname he had given his friend. “Even if I talked on ET in Brazil or any talk show, any press or while we were filming in the favelas, it was Pablo and me.”
Vin’s thoughts about Paul follow his sweet tribute on Instagram in Nov. 2016, where he vowed to honor his fallen friend. “So proud of this franchise, built on brotherhood… loyalty. Wait until you see this next chapter… I have pledged to make Pablo proud… All love,” he captioned a pic of him and Paul smiling.
Paul passed away on Nov. 30, 2013 as a result of a single-car collision. Although he’s gone Vin, along with Tyrese, 37, and others from the Fast family continue to keep his memory alive with tributes and posts. And his legacy will definitely be remembered in the eighth installment of the movie franchise, which is projected to hit theaters in April 2017.
