Could Mike Lawson really say goodbye to the Padres? Could the Padres say goodbye to him? And more importantly… could Ginny?
The talk of San Diego was loud and clear in the locker room: was Mike Lawson leaving for the Cubs? He wouldn’t confirm or deny, and of course, didn’t want to hear it when Ginny tried explaining he could get a ring right there at San Diego.
She wasn’t the only one who didn’t want him gone — Al wasn’t into it, either. Even Mike wasn’t thrilled either when he saw that he’d actually be sitting his last game — a request from the Cubs so he didn’t get hurt. However, when he was itching to hit in the ninth inning to win it (and while Levan kept screwing up), Ginny told him to put on the helmet, and got the camera man to shoot him. Now they had to let him hit. So they did; with that, he struck out. It hurt… but it helped that the crowd begged for a tip of the hat.
Ginny was not happy that after the game, Mike wasn’t saying goodbye to anyone; she told him she was going out with her brother but to let her know if the guys went out for a drink.
Really though, she went on a date with Noah, the CEO of the company that shot her in a video game (guest star, Tyler Hilton). Yes, he was really charming and sweet (nothing like Chris Keller, BTW). He was also a billionaire, who — without knowing her brother’s situation — gave a little advice to her: never invest in the restaurant business . . . especially with family. She clearly liked him, but when Mike texted her, she went to the bar to meet him.
However, none of the guys were there — it was just him. He obviously called her out on lying about her brother but let that slip. They spent the entire time flirting, of course, and when they said goodbye they came this close to kissing, but were interrupted by Mike’s phone. The trade fell through; he wasn’t going anywhere. Naturally, they immediately backed up: they were teammates again. And by the deal falling through, we know that means now Al and Oscar’s jobs are now at rise.
