The legendary Tony Bennett graced us with his presence at the ‘Christmas in Rockefeller Center’ special on Nov. 30 to sing beautiful renditions of ‘White Christmas’ and ‘The Christmas Song.’ And thank God he did because his performances were absolutely amazing! Check it out here.
At 90 years old, Tony Bennett can still hold his own. And the classic singer totally proved that when he rocked the Christmas in Rockefeller Center special with his epic cover of “White Christmas.” Seriously, if you weren’t already a fan of Tony, his performance at the Nov. 30 event would have you singing a different tune! (Pun TOTALLY intended.) Later in the show, Tony returned to the stage once again, this time to sing “The Christmas Song.”
The legendary singer is known for his snappy singing and his snazzy looks, and both were on point as he performed at the show. “I’m dreaming of a white Christmas/Just like the ones I used to know/Where the treetops glisten and children listen/To hear sleigh bells in the snow,” Tony crooned while wearing a long black coat and a red scarf that totally screamed Christmas to us! “May your days be merry and bright/And may all your Christmases be white,” the singer sang as he finished the Bing Crosby classic. Amazing!
Tony was not the only one to perform in front of the 94 feet tall, 56 feet wide Norway Spruce, which was lit by Saturday Night Live’s Alec Baldwin and Kate McKinnon. Singers like Josh Groban and Tori Kelly lent their voices to the night full of holiday fun as well! We think the special, which was hosted by the Today show’s Matt Lauer, Savannah Guthrie, Al Roker and Hoda Kotb, was a great way to kick off the holiday season!
