Josh Groban is the king of Christmas songs that bring a tear to your eye. So when he took the stage for the ‘Christmas in Rockefeller Center’ special, we were totally ready to bawl. And from the moment he started in on his rendition of ‘Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas’, that’s exactly what happened.
Josh Groban, 35, sang one of the most beautiful renditions of “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” that we have ever heard at the Christmas in Rockefeller Center special on Nov. 30. Josh always blows us away with his epic performances, but it’s really when he sings Christmas ballads that he makes us burst out in tears. And his performance during the special, which is centered around the Rockefeller Center tree lighting, was his latest tearjerker. His voice is just so smooth and stunning, you guys!
The incredible crooner sang with a grand piano and orchestra playing behind him, which was the perfect touch for the ballad. He dressed perfectly for the holidays how in a gray turtleneck and navy blue peacoat to keep warm. Of course, the set was totally festive, too, with white Christmas trees and garland lit up all around Josh, providing the perfect atmosphere for his performance.
Josh was not the only one to perform in front of the 94-foot tall tree, as he was joined by singers like Tony Bennett and Tori Kelly. The Christmas special was hosted by the Today show’s Matt Lauer, Savannah Guthrie, Al Roker and Hoda Kotb, and the tree was lit by Saturday Night Live’s Alec Baldwin and Kate McKinnon. What a fun night!
