Uh oh! Apparently Nick Young’s volatile on-court temper isn’t reserved for when he’s playing for the L.A. Lakers. Now he’s being sued for allegedly beating the crap out of an opposing player during a friendly church league pick-up game! Read on for the shocking details.
Nick Young apparently doesn’t know how to keep basketball competition friendly when he’s not in NBA beast mode. The 31-year-old has just been slapped with a lawsuit by a man who alleges that the Lakers star beat the Hell out of him while playing in a church league game back on Aug. 18, resulting in some really severe injuries!
Swaggy P was playing in recreational game at Shepherd of the Hills church in Porter Ranch, CA and allegedly became totally unglued when opposing player Luis Solis committed a foul on him and the ref didn’t call the guy out. That’s when he decided to take matters into his own hands, and in court documents obtained by TMZ Sports, Nick allegedly became “enraged” over the missed call. He reportedly “flipped out” and beat the guy down to the paint. The site also says that once Nick got him on the ground, a bunch of the guys on his team allegedly piled on and started violently kicking Luis!
According to the court docs, Luis claims he sustained serious injuries including a concussion, and says that Nick has become violent and started fights during pick-up games in the past. Man, that’s some crazy stuff to be that competitive in friendly games, especially when he’s an NBA pro and these are probably a bunch of average Joe’s just looking to have some fun on the basketball court. So far the site notes that Luis hasn’t filed a police report against Swaggy, but he’s thinking about it. It’s not clear the amount of monetary damages that he wants from Nick.
HollywoodLifers, do you believe that Nick is capable of beating a guy up during a friendly game of church league pick-up ball?
