Here’s some better Kanye West news! Rhymefest recently bought Kanye’s childhood home in Chicago, and he’s putting it towards an amazing cause! Get the scoop here!
There seems to be a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel amid Kanye West’s, 39, tragic mental health scare. Hip hop artist and philanthropist Rhymefest, 39, recently announced that he was purchasing Kanye West’s old house in Chicago and converting it into a community arts “incubator” for Kanye’s Donda House Program. SO sweet!
Rhymefest took to Instagram on Nov. 25, to announced the great news! “I’m excited to announce the purchase of Kanye’s childhood home as a community Arts incubator,” he captioned a pic of him sitting outside of what is presumed to be Kanye’s childhood home. “It will be the first of our Nationwide Lite-Houses. A state of the art recording studio, a curriculum space for @dondashouse and Southside music museum.” Rhymefest also mentioned the importance of giving back to the community. “We want to show bright spots in communities that [have] been divested from, we know more Lights exist here, they just need to be activated,” he added.

The new project is part of Donda’s House program, which Rhymefest is the creative director of. The program was initially launched in dedication to Kanye’s late mother, who was deeply involved and passionate about the youth and arts in the Chicago area. In addition to the latest update, Rhymefest has hosted a number of events and forums in support of the Donda program. In Oct. 2016, he hosted a vigil in protest of gun violence. That is amazing!
Rhymefest and Kanye have a very interesting history. In the past, Rhyme has admitted to ghostwriting for the rapper. Additionally, he has publicly come out, saying that Kanye “needs help,” both spiritually and mentally. Coincidentally, following those comments, Kanye was reportedly admitted into a Los Angeles hospital for psychiatric evaluation. The Pablo rapper reportedly spent Thanksgiving in the hospital with Kim Kardashian, 36, by his side. SO sad! And despite reports claiming that he had a break down due to exhaustion, new claims state that he’s been suffering from paranoia for quite some time now! We really hope that Kanye gets better soon, but we are sure he’s probably overjoyed that his mother’s life mission and legacy is living on thanks to Rhymefest’s latest development!
HollywoodLifers, what do you think of Rhymefest’s latest power move? Do you think Kanye will be happy?
