It goes without saying that Hollywood lost an iconic TV mom when Florence passed away. Her role as the perky matriarch Carol Brady on the ABC sitcom The Brady Bunch will not be forgotten, and she starred on the popular show from 1969 to 1974.
Florence also competed on Season 11 of Dancing with the Stars with partner Corky Ballas. “[The show has made me] a better dancer and a much stronger person,” Florence told HollywoodLife.com exclusively at the time. Her death marks the first one of a contestant in the show’s history — so heartbreaking. She also attended a few episodes this season, including the finale, to support her Brady Bunch costar Maureen McCormick. Their reunion was so sweet, and we’re glad that Carol and Marcia Brady got to reunite one last time.
Finally, Florence worked up until the time of her death. She began hosting The Florence Henderson Show, a talk show on the Retirement Living TV network in 2008. She also started hosting What’s Cooking with Florence Henderson in 2013.
The veteran actress died of heart failure, and was surrounded by loved ones at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Florence will definitely be missed!
