Just what the doctor ordered! Mike Pence infamously attended the hottest musical in town and was booed, and Donald Trump has done his best to make the cast apologize. Well, Stephen Colbert spoofed ‘Hamilton’ on Nov. 21 in response to the president-elect, donning a Donald Trump wig and spitting truth bombs — WATCH here!
Stephen Colbert, 52, mocked Donald Trump, 70, after the president-elect took to Twitter to demand an apology from the Hamilton cast and crew. Colbert performed an original rap, taking on Trump and his VP-to-be Mike Pence, 57, — Watch above!
Here are some of the lyrics:
How does an orange bully, son of a bitch and a conman grabbing p*ssy with Gary Busey,
no taxes evident,
grow up to be a hero and the president?
Well, the story of my reign starts on the great white way
with a great white-haired veep who doesn’t like the gay.
I always thought the theater was a safe and special place,
but when the vice president’s in residence some thugs get in his face.
Of course, it all started when Pence attended Hamilton and was booed by the crowd before the show began. Actor Brandon Victor Dixon, AKA Aaron Burr, read a prepared statement about Pence during the curtain call, leading Trump to tweet the following: “The Theater must always be a safe and special place. The cast of Hamilton was very rude last night to a very good man, Mike Pence. Apologize!” Yikes.
“First of all, Mr. Trump, the only president who gets to complain about the theater is Abraham Lincoln,” Colbert also said in his monologue. “Second, I don’t know, where did you get this idea that the theater is safe? I’ve seen Cats. You think you’re safe but then all the cat people start coming off the stage and try to sit in your lap and crawl up the walls. President Trump, build the fourth wall, and make Andrew Lloyd Webber pay for it.” HA!
