Kanye West, 39, was shockingly hospitalized on November 21 after allegedly “acting erratically” at trainer Harley Pasternak‘s house. After a weekend of strange behavior, many have voiced their concerns that Kanye’s overstressed, overworked and overwhelmed. While it’s no secret that Kanye’s a workaholic, added stress from his wife, Kim Kardashian‘s life-threatening robbery in Paris on October 3 could still be weighing on him heavily, says a top psychologist.

“My guess is [Kanye] is physically and emotionally exhausted as a result of Kim’s horrific robbery. Kanye may see himself as a failure for not being able to protect Kim,” psychologist Dr. Jennifer Rhodes tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “It is extremely difficult for a husband to not be available to protect his wife after a life-threatening ordeal. It has been a number of weeks since Kim’s attack, but that does not mean other family members, like Kanye, have not been affected.

“When we are in crisis mode to care for a family member, we often forget to take care of ourselves.  Kanye is probably the most exhausted he has ever been,” Dr. Rhodes, who does not treat Kanye, continued. “Saying and doing things that are out of character, not following through on professional obligations and simply acting impulsively signal that a break is needed.”

Poor Kanye! Of course he’s devastated after Kim’s experience. His own ordeal on November 21 was frightening. Police came to his trainer’s home in response to an emergency medical call, according to a report from TMZ, and Kanye was taken to UCLA Medical Center. The hospitalization comes after he ranted in two separate concerts, including telling his audience in Sacramento on November 19 that Jay Z was allegedly going to “kill” him. He stormed out of that concert after performing just two songs, outright canceled his Los Angeles concert the next day, and canceled the rest of his Saint Pablo tour, as well.
