This is absolutely heartbreaking. New reports surrounding the tragic Chattanooga school bus crash suggest that perhaps the man behind the wheel of the totaled bus purposefully crashed the kid-filled vehicle! In fact, in a chilling account, one child reportedly revealed he asked all the students on board if they were ready to die!
Johnthony Walker, 24, was driving a school bus full of elementary school children on Nov. 21 in Chattanooga, Tennessee when the bus he was handling crashed, toppled over, and killed at least five kids. And while Johnthony was arrested on Nov. 22 and charged with five counts of vehicular homicide, reckless endangerment, and reckless driving, it seems as if he may have actually committed these horrible crimes INTENTIONALLY!

A mother of three children who were on the bus — including one who died — said her daughter chillingly revealed what Johnthony told the students right before the crash. “My daughter said, right before the bus flipped, that he was speeding around the curb, and asked them, ‘are y’all ready to die?’ she said to CBS News Radio. How terrifying.
“Five is a cursed number in our city right now. We are … dealing with an unimaginable loss,” Mayor Andy Berke said. “The most unnatural thing in the world is for a parent to mourn the loss of a child.” And while Johnthony is currently in custody, investigators are still trying to figure out what caused the tragic crash. One promising working theory is speed.
Witness statements as well as physical evidence showed that the 24-year-old was traveling “at a high rate of speed, well above the posted speed limit of 30 mph,” according to an arrest affidavit. “Mr. Walker lost control of the bus and swerved off of the roadway to the right, striking an elevated driveway and mailbox, swerved to the left and began to overturn, striking a telephone pole and a tree,” the affidavit says.
On top of that, driving conditions were clear and dry, according to Chattanooga police Chief Fred Fletcher, and no other vehicles were involved in the crash. To pieces all the different parts together, investigators are currently interviewing witnesses. However, they’ll soon have other evidence at their disposal, including video and an informational box from the bus.
Our hearts go out to these children’s loved ones during this extremely difficult time. HollywoodLifers, please leave your condolences for the victims’ friends and family below.
