Tim McGraw won big at the Nov. 20 American Music Awards, and we love that his 18-year-old daughter Maggie was by his side for the big night! The two shared a super special evening together, even hitting up In-N-Out Burger after the night’s festivities! But at the same time, we couldn’t help wondering where is wife of 20 years, Faith Hill, was.
Faith Hill, 49, skipped the 2016 American Music Awards on Nov. 20, so that her hubby, Tim McGraw, 49, could bring a different stunning beauty in her place — their middle daughter, 18-year-old Maggie Elizabeth! But giving her husband and her daughter an opportunity for a memorable date night wasn’t the only reason Faith was a no-show. She was also recovering from foot surgery, according to Instagram, which would have made it difficult for her to attend the show.
But Faith’s loss was Tim and Maggie’s gain — and it definitely looked like they made the most out of their father/daughter night! Even better, Maggie got to watch dad win the Favorite Country Song award for his hit tune “Humble and Kind.” And as he accepted the award on stage, the singer referred to his daughters — he’s also dad to Gracie, 19, and Audrey, 14 — “an inspiration to me every single day.” Aw!
In his speech, Tim also thanked Faith, calling her “my soul soldier … who stands beside me.” That’s not the only fun that took place inside the Microsoft Theater though. The college student even got to pose with Lady Gaga, which had to have been a major highlight of her evening! Maggie looked amazing in a black jumpsuit that she paired with a leather moto jacket and heels. Maggie also accompanied her famous dad to the CMT Awards this past June.
But even before hitting the red carpet together, Tim posted a precious selfie with his daughter, which he later posted to Instagram. “My date for the night!” he captioned the snap. After the show, the country crooner took to social media once again to post a pic of his and Maggie’s late-night meal of In-N-Out Burger. “Post #AMAs,” he wrote. Looks like the perfect ending to a very special night!
“It’s beautiful and it’s sad all at one time,” Tim has previously said about his kids leaving home. “You know, you can’t wait for them to sort of see what they make of themselves and do with themselves when they get out from under your umbrella, but you’re also nervous and sad because you’re gonna miss ’em.” We love how they got to share this one-of-a-kind night together!
Tell us, HollywoodLifers — do you love that Tim took his daughter to the AMAs? Were you surprised Faith wasn’t his date?
