Wow, pretty intense. Chrissy Teigen made a brave speech against the recent presidential election at the 2016 AMAs and it was completely censored from the television broadcast. Not to worry, you can read the full diss right here. Keep reading!
“This next performer is a brilliant musician and a wonderful father who makes a pretty damn good breakfast sandwich and he has been known to write love songs about me,” Chrissy Teigen began at the 2016 American Music Awards at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California as she was introducing her hunky husband John Legend. Before her husband sang his beautiful song, “Love Me Now,” in front of the biggest names in music and for fans watching on TV across the world, Chrissy decided to drop a f-bomb while she gave her opinion about Donald Trump winning the recent presidential election.
Here is the part that censors did not want you to hear: “What can I say? I’m very inspiring, but his songs are bigger than either of us and on the heels of what’s been a really interesting, interesting f**ked up election for all of us, I think we could all use a little love tonight.” Oh boy, we can see why the network executives had to hit the button on Chrissy, afterall it is supposed to be a family-friendly show. But kudos to Chrissy for trying to take a patriotic stand!
Chrissy’s speech was one moment in a night full of memorable performances and awards. Justin Bieber performed live from the European leg of his Purpose Tour while Nicki Minaj got on stage to rap with DJ Khaled and Future. Then there were the heart-felt speeches by both Selena Gomez and Ariana Grande. Wow, what a special night for music fans!
