The news of Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford’s affair shocked everyone — and that shocked Carrie! The ‘Star Wars’ legend, 60, just revealed in a new interview that she does feel bad for spilling her bedroom secrets with the entire world, and cannot believe the reaction she’s gotten since. Watch the interview here.
With Carrie Fisher‘s new book, The Princess Diarist being released on Nov. 22, it’s no surprise that she’s promoting it like crazy — and talking about the actual journals that are published inside. She visited the Today show on Nov. 21 to reveal that she actually feels bad about detailing the Harrison Ford affair in her book, since everyone was really astonished at the news.
“I’m surprised at the reaction, that it’s so much,” she told Savannah Guthrie, adding that she didn’t think it was that surprising that the on-screen couple were romantic in real life, on set of the first Star Wars in 1976. Carrie revealed that when she found the journals on set, she decided to publish them — but wasn’t exactly proud of what had happened.

“I’d forgotten that I written them. I’ve never written diaries like that, [and] I write when I’m upset. So I was upset and it’s about two months or three months of upset,” she said, adding that in a way, she was relieved when the affair was over — she was 19 at the time while he was 33, and married. “I wasn’t raised that way. But when you’re on location — this is something I discovered — everything is permitted.”
She also made sure she did not include specific details of their actual hook ups. “There’s just so far that you wanna go . . . this is already too far, so [am] I gonna go and rate someone? Whats the criteria for good in bed?” she asked Savannah, laughing. “I think there should be a standard, like Olympics type thing! You know, where they hold up the numbers? I’m suggesting we get a panel and I’ll discuss it with them and we’ll find out [his rating].”
