OUCH! A.J. Green suffered a nasty hamstring injury during the Cincinnati Bengals game against the Buffalo Bills on Nov. 20. The wide receiver went down trying to make a catch and rolled around on the field in pain afterwards. Click to WATCH.
A.J. was trying to make a catch on the second play of the game at Paul Brown Stadium when Bills defender Stephon Gilmore tackled him, sending them both to the ground. While Stephon got up directly after the incomplete play, A.J. didn’t. The 24-year-old grabbed his leg and writhed in pain on the field. A.J. kept clutching his right leg. Two assistant trainers ran to his side and helped him up. A.J. was taken away to the locker room on a cart and didn’t come back to the game.

A.J. suffered a nasty tear in his hamstring, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported. His prognosis is “not good.” A.J. may not see the field again this season. “I don’t know when he can come back, but he has a hamstring injury,” Coach Marvin Lewis said in an interview after the game. One Bills reporter said that A.J. could “barely put any pressure on the leg.” Another reporter noted that the wide receiver said “he’ll be back at some point but not sure about next week.”
The Bengals lost to the Bills 16-12. If A.J. is out for the season, it will be a devastating loss for the Bengals. Coming into the game on Sunday, A.J. had 66 receptions for 964 yards and four touchdowns. Unfortunately, A.J. wasn’t the only injury the Bengals suffered during the Nov. 20 game. Running back Giovani Bernard, 24, tore his ACL in the game as well. Get well soon, A.J. and Gio!
