WrestleMania and SummerSlam better watch out because the 2016 Survivor Series may have blown them out of the water. Some of the biggest matches of the year took place at the Air Canada Center in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, including the highly anticipated WrestleMania 20 rematch between Brock Lesnar, 39 and Bill Goldberg, 49. And the match was over before anyone thought.
Brock’s manager Paul Heyman, 51, promised Brock would win in “two minutes,” per For The Win. The match didn’t even last that long. Goldberg nailed a spear out of nowhere! he followed it up with a second devastating tackle. Brock was broken in half, and Goldberg planted “The Beast” in the middle of the ring with a Jackhammer. After the ref counted to 3, Bill had done what no one thought was possible: He beat Brock Lesnar.

Wow. Survivor Series also saw a traditional 5-on-5 “Survivor Series” match between Team Raw (Kevin Owns, 32, Chris Jericho, 46, Roman Reigns, 31, Braun Strowman, 33, and Seth Rollins, 30) and Team SmackDown (AJ Styles, 39, Dean Ambrose, 30, Bray Wyatt, 29, Randy Orton, 36, and Shane McMahon, 46.) There was nothing on the line but brand-pride, as Raw and SmackDown want to each prove they’re the better show.
If the warning The Undertaker, 51, gave when he returned to SmackDown Live! didn’t motivate the blue brand, at least they had lovable loser, James Ellsworth, 31, by their side. At the end of the match, SmackDown somehow overcame the red brand, with Bray and Randy standing tall over a broken Roman Reigns.
After a pair of female Superstars headlined WWE’s Hell In A Cell, the women weren’t going to be left out. Charlotte, 30, Bayley, 27, Nia Jax, 32, Alicia Fox, 30, and Sasha Banks, 24 (from Raw) took on SmackDown’s Nikki Bella, 32, Becky Lynch, 29, Alexa Bliss, 25, Carmella, 29, and Naomi, 28. It came down to 2-1, with Charlotte and Bayley against Becky. The “Professor of Hug-a-nomics” caught Becky in a Belly-to-Bayley for the 3!
Two championships were on the line, as The Miz, 36, (with wife, Maryse, 33,) defended the Intercontinental Championship against Sami Zayn, 32. If Sami won, the title goes with him to Raw. Brian Kendrick, 37, faced Kalisto, 30, for the Cruiserweight title, under the stipulation that the Cruiserweight division would transfer to SmackDown Live! if Kalisto won. Ultimately, it was The Miz (thanks to Maryse tricking Zayn, leading to a quick roll-up) and Brian (thanks to help from Baron Corbin, 32, who caused a DQ after attacking the cruiserweights) who walked out as champs.
What did you think about Survivor Series, HollywoodLifers? Who did you want to win in the Lesnar Vs. Goldberg match?
