The legendary singer of The Police looked amazing on stage, rocking a grey t-shirt and black jeans while showing off his impressive muscles and famous gravelly voice. The crowd was going wild as he rocked out to his most iconic songs in front of a wall of colored lights with a full band in tow, but it was Selena Gomez who seemed to be having the most fun in the audience, totally dancing and singing along to “Message in a Bottle.” So cool!
Of course, Sting was in the house to receive the American Music Awards Award of Merit for his humanitarian work around the world, including charities like Amnesty International, the Rainforest Foundation Fund, and many more important causes. He’s done tons of benefits, concerts, galas and more to raise awareness for human rights, and he totally deserved this amazing award.
He was presented it by his good friend Robert Downey Jr. who couldn’t stop gushing about him and how wonderful a teacher he is to the world. He even took a minute while accepting it to say that “America is the greatest country in the world” and that even though he’s an Englishman living in New York, his heart is “All American!” Take that, Donald Trump!
