The talented cast of ‘Saturday Night Live’ wowed the crowd with a very entertaining show on Nov. 19, especially with one hilarious sketch. ‘The Weekend Update’ slammed Donald Trump for not wanting to live solely in the White House, joking that he needs to sleep in his ‘big boy bed!’
If you were hoping for a wildly hilarious episode of Saturday Night Live on Nov. 19, it looks like you’re in luck! The A-list comedians pulled out all the stops for a few knee-slapping sketches, including the fan-favorite segment “Weekend Update.” Michael Che and Colin Jost made sure to address all the tension in the nation at the moment due to the presidential election, slamming Donald Trump, 70, for his choice NOT to live full-time at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW in Washington. Colin brought up a point to the viewers, noting, “He is considering splitting his time between the White house and his Manhattan residence, which would cost tax-payers tens of millions of dollars. But, it’s all worth it to help a billionaire go night-night in his big boy bed.” Ouch!
They didn’t stop there, joking how they hoped his presidency turned out more like the movie First Kid, then Independence Day. What a show! SNL alum Kristen Wiig, 43, returned home to the iconic 8H stage to serve as the superstar host for the evening. NBC previously announced that she would be making an appearance on the late-night comedy sketch series, sending fans into a frenzy over the big news. Kristen was a former cast member for seven seasons, where she was known for her hilarious impressions of stars like Kathie Lee Gifford and Suze Orman, in addition to her spunky characters, like Penelope, and the ultimate one-upper. She last hosted in 2013 and has continued to land big movie roles like Bridesmaids and Ghostbusters!
English indie pop band, The xx also stopped by the Big Apple, serving as the musical guest. We couldn’t be more excited to tune into the show every week, since major stars are always featured in the best way. On Nov. 12, Dave Chappelle took on the hosting duties, marking his first big gig in nearly a decade. Not only did he nail his politically-charged opening monologue, but he also reprised a few of his iconic characters from Chappelle’s Show. Furthermore, A Tribe Called Quest also performed two songs from their new album, “We The People” and “The Space Program.” Looks like the holiday season will continue to offer several star sightings on SNL!
