What in the world is this? NASA captured photos of a mysterious spherical object via satellite this week, leading many to wonder whether it’s a new planet, star or something entirely different. See the bizarre pic that’s confusing scientists and conspiracy theorists!
It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s a…weird blue spherical object? Scientists from all over the world are completely baffled over the strange images that NASA picked up in front of the sun. Thanks to the STEREO satellites, the object can be seen in clear view, before disappearing in other frames. Pamela Johnson shared the mysterious pics from the space agency’s website via Facebook on Nov. 15, claiming the Sun was even reacting to its presence. The object hasn’t re-appeared again either, which has sent UFO hunters into a frenzy with conspiracy theories.

NASA’s STEREO, aka Solar Terrestrial Relations Observatory mission involved launching twin spacecrafts into orbit around the Sun in 2006, so we could better observe things from different angles, like flares and coronal mass ejections. But, these latest images have raised questions. “It certainly does look exceptional and I’m stumped,” one YouTube user wrote. “I’d say rouge planet, but we don’t see it moving and then it’s gone.” Another person named Mike Sovereign was more skeptical over the whole ordeal, noting, “Ok, if you ask me, NASA would never be so careless to allow something like this to reach the public.”
Needless to say, conspiracy theorists are pretty concerned by the phenomenon, especially after it went viral. “Whether the object is one of the giant extraterrestrial or inter-dimensional spacecraft, which are accessing our solar system, using the Sun as a Stargate or an unknown celestial body like the famed planet Nibiru, it is clear what happened was not the result of an equipment failure,” according to UFO Sightings Hotspot. Uh oh!
