Kanye West is standing up for Mike Pence, according to a source who spoke to HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY! Kanye really wishes he was there while the ‘Hamilton’ audience booed the VP-elect during the November 19 show, and he has a bone to pick with the cast, too!
“Kanye can’t believe that sophisticated theatre performers and their intellectual audience members had the nerve to boo Mike [Pence],” the source told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “Mike hasn’t signed one piece of legislation as VP and isn’t even in office (yet), and people are giving him a hard time! Kanye felt bad and had he been there he would have stood up and protected the VP-elect.
“He would grabbed the mic and went off on that cast and everybody in the room that scolded Pence. Ye would have given them all a history lesson at the same time,” the source continued. “Like Mike and [Donald] Trump, Kanye knows what it’s like to be vilified just because he has a different point of view and is not PC.”
Wow! Kanye has stated before that he supports Trump (despite the fact that he didn’t vote in the November 8 presidential election), but we didn’t know he had such strong feelings about Pence! There’s a problem with his complaint, though. The “Hamilton” cast didn’t boo Pence at all. Brandon Victor Dixon, who plays Aaron Burr in the musical, actually told the audience to settle down and stop booing! It’s especially funny that he wants to give them a “history lesson,” too!
Despite what Trump has said on Twitter, the “Hamilton” cast did not attack Pence. They delivered a thoughtful speech to the vice president-elect, asking him to “work for all of us” when he’s in office. Trump demanded they give Pence an apology, but in a November 20 interview, Pence himself actually said he wasn’t bothered by the speech! That should be enough to put this all to rest, don’t you think?
HollywoodLifers, do you think Kanye would have stood up for Pence had he been at “Hamilton” that night? Tell us in the comments!
