Marion Cotillard is forced to defend herself against pesky love affair rumors with Brad Pitt, yet again! In a new interview, Nov. 17, the French actress revealed how she copes with the harsh scrutiny when she said, ‘I had nothing to do with those rumors or that situation.’ Watch her address the reported scandalous relationship head-on!
Now that Marion Cotillard, 41, and Brad Pitt‘s new movie, Allied is about to hit the box office, it’s time for the actress to face the music and address those love affair rumors with the 52-year-old actor. In a new interview, Nov. 17, she was directly asked about the rumors that she’s tirelessly denied before. “I never take anything personally when it doesn’t concern me and so I didn’t take it personally because I had nothing to do with those rumors or situation,” she told Today‘s Matt Lauer, 58.
Marion remained confident and poised as she shrugged off the gossip. The gorgeous actress described how she didn’t let the rumors affect the making of a great film. “I don’t give energy to this and it was a wonderful, wonderful experience working with such a visionary director and an amazing actor [Brad], so that’s all that matters.” Wow.

It was clear that Marion spoke cautiously. However, that’s most likely due to the fact that she’s had to address the controversial affair rumors multiple times. The actress spoke to ET on the red carpet of an early screening of Allied in NYC, and it got a bit awkward. She found herself in sticky situation when she spoke about the similarities between Allied, and Brad and Angelina Jolie‘s, 41, movie, Mr. & Mrs. Smith. “Well, Mr. and Mrs. Smith was really a comedy,” Marion said. “This one [Allied] is very entertaining but at the same time, there is a very profound questioning about love, about trust — and the movie is very moving. It’s very emotional. But yes, there are common points between the stories, because it’s two spies who meet on a mission.” She has a few points there.
While Marion continues to deny the affair rumors with Brad, they were lovers at one point — on screen that is. That’s it. The actress is happily in a relationship with her longtime partner Guillame Canet, 43. She spoke out about the reported affair scandal on Instagram in Sept. 2016, where she wished “peace” to her friends, Angie and Brad. “I do very much wish that Angelina and Brad, both whom I deeply respect, will find peace in this very tumultuous moment,” Marion said in a long-captioned post, putting an end to the affair speculation.
We’re sure another relationship is the furthest thing from Brad’s mind anyway, since he’s got a lot on his plate at the moment. His tumultuous divorce to Angie is at its peak, and the two are reportedly about to enter a nasty custody battle. Brad has reportedly been cleared by the Department of Child and Family Services and the FBI of child abuse allegations, and Angie is apparently furious. If both organizations closed their cases on Brad, he could very well be in the good graces of a judge who could determine his future with his six kids — Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 8.
But, it may not be that easy. When Angie filed for divorce in Sept. 2016, she requested sole custody of the kids. And, when Brad finally answered her legal docs on Nov. 4, he countered her request and checked off joint custody of the children. A harsh war may be brewing between the former lovers. We’ll have to wait and see what happens next!
