Katy Perry, 32, never shies away from a bold beauty look, and her latest detailed hair look is surprisingly easy to copy. Attending the Star of Recognition ceremony for Capitol Records, Katy went for a sophisticated head-to-toe look with her usual fun style sprinkled throughout.
Wearing a white and black ensemble from Vika Gazinskaya, Katy’s makeup artist Todd Delano kept her makeup clean and easy. Keeping her skin fresh with a natural contour, Todd added dramatic lashes to Katy’s look with a mascara like the new CoverGirl So Lashy! BlastPro Mascara. For her matte pink lip, Todd shared that he used on of Katy’s own creations for CoverGirl, the Katy Kat Matte Lipstick in Kitty Purry.
Then, there was Katy’s chic ponytail, which looked like your average low pony from the front but was given a literal twist thanks to hairstylist Chris Appleton. Thanks to her bold style choice, she was able to show off her glamorous David Webb earrings as well, making her the ultimate fashion icon.

Parting her hair down the middle, Chris slicked Katy’s hair back into a low ponytail, which you can recreate by using a pomade like Fat Boy Tough Guy Water Wax. With the hair secured in a low pony, split the pony into two sections and wind the two sections together, securing at the bottom with an elastic. To match the black velvet on Katy’s outfit, Chris dressed up her ponytail with velvet ribbon wrapped around the top and bottom elastic for a high-fashion finish — so perfect for any upcoming holiday parties!
HollywoodLifers, what do you think of Katy’s latest look? Will you be copying the rope braid?
