‘Ocean’s Eight’ may be all about the girl power, but there’s of course going to be a little bit of man candy on set! Matt Damon, who portrayed Linus Caldwell in all three original ‘Ocean’s’ movies, will actually make an appearance in the new film.
“I’m doing a little bit in the movie,” Matt Damon told Entertainment Tonight at the premiere of Manchester by the Sea on Monday. “I haven’t read it yet, but the cast is phenomenal, and I’m excited to see what those women do with it. It’s going to be fun.”
Of course, Matt, 46, starred in Ocean’s Eleven, Twelve and Thirteen, so it’s not surprising that he’ll remain part of the cast. The new film is set to star a seriously A-list group of ladies: Anne Hathaway, Sandra Bullock, Helena Bonham Carter, Cate Blanchett, Sarah Paulson, Rihanna, Mindy Kaling and Awkwafina.
The film will reportedly be based on the sister of George Clooney‘s Danny Ocean, a role played by Clooney’s good friend, Sandra Bullock. Ocean’s Eight will open in theaters June 8, 2018, but that’s pretty much all the information we know about the film so far, as they’ve kept all details pretty much under wrap.
“Look, I’m real scared, man,” Mindy Kaling recently said on The Late Show about her role in the film. “When I look at that list of people, I’m like, ‘I know that my skill’s my’s gonna be [something like] I’m gonna get attacked by the guard dog so they can break into the casino.'” Well if that’s the case, we cannot wait! She also revealed that the movie is set in NYC, and has “a fashion element to it.”
