Kelsey Grammer is officially a dad of 7! The ‘Frasier’ star’s wife, Kayte Walsh, gave birth to their 3rd child together, a baby BOY, and we are so thrilled for the newly-expanded fam! But just wait until you hear the precious name they gave him — the meaning behind it is super sweet! Find out all the details here.
Kelsey Grammer, 61, and his wife Kayte Walsh, 35, welcomed a baby boy into the world on Nov. 14, according to People magazine. The child, who weighs 7 lbs. and measures 21 inches long, is the couple’s third baby together but seventh overall for the Frasier star. Even better though, the two named their newest bundle of joy Auden James Ellis Grammer, which is quite a significant moniker for Kelsey and Kayte.
“The name was chosen to honor the great poet W.H. Auden, and James is after another great poet and singer James Taylor — two of our favorites,” the couple revealed in a statement, according to the publication. Ellis on the other hand, is strictly a family choice as it was Kelsey’s maternal great-grandfather’s name. “He was a colorful character, to say the least, and we wanted to give the name a second chance,” add the Grammers. Aw!
And it seems like both Auden and Kayte are doing well after his arrival. “Both mother and son are doing great,” their rep confirmed to the magazine. We’re SO happy to hear that! We can only imagine how excited the rest of the family is. After all, Auden joins siblings Kelsey Gabriel Elias, 2, and Faith Evangeline Elisa, 4, plus Kelsey’s children from previous relationships: daughters Spencer, 33, Greer, 24, and Mason Olivia, 15, as well as son Jude Gordon, 12.
“My dad loves babies,” Greer told the mag back in 2014 shortly before Gabriel was born. “He loves having children and he’s always wanted a really big family… There’s going to be so many of us. It’s funny.” Aw! The more the merrier, right?
