Katy Perry’s had a rough time, as of late. Not only did her favorite candidate, Hillary Clinton, lose the Presidential Election on Nov. 8, but the ‘Roar’ singer was also forced to cancel an appearance at the Global Shopping Festival Gala in Shenzhen, China on Nov. 11, due to a ‘family emergency.’ So is she okay? We’ve got the scoop!
Fret not, Kitty Kats! Katy Perry‘s father, Pastor Keith Hudson, tells Hollywoodlife.com EXCLUSIVELY, “Everything is good and Katy is fine — her fans don’t need to worry.” Hallelujah!
As we previously told you, Katy sent a message to her fans after cancelling the China-based concert. “Regretfully, I must cancel my appearance on the Alibaba Double 11 due to a family emergency,” Katy said in a statement posted on Weibo, via Us Weekly. “I am very sorry to disappoint my fans and look forward to seeing you in China soon.” The event was held to honor Singles Day in China, and OneRepublic and Kobe Bryant were also expected to appear. They, obviously, showed up on Nov. 10, while Katy did not.
Katy Perry is reportedly in the States with boyfriend Orlando Bloom, recovering from the election results. She campaigned tirelessly for Hilary Clinton, even though both of her parents, Keith and Mary, are hardcore Republicans who voted for Donald Trump. Even so, their political differences haven’t affected their relationship. Katy is still very close to her parents.
During an election party, Katy said, “Tonight my parents voted for Trump, but you know what? We will still all be sitting at the same table for Thanksgiving.”
