Our hearts are totally breaking for ‘Dancing With The Stars’ contestant Laurie Hernandez right now, who was crying her eyes out during her Nov. 14 performance after losing her grandmother that same week. Check out the clip of Laurie’s beautiful dance after her devastating loss.
Laurie Hernandez, 16, gave one of the most touching performances we’ve ever seen on Dancing With The Stars on Nov. 14 when she broke down sobbing due to the emotions she was feeling after the recent death of her grandmother. The Olympic gold medalist has wowed us all season long and is one of the contestants favored to win, along with her partner, Val Chmerkovskiy.
But she never amazed us more than when we saw her give this touching performance during the show’s semi-finals that was accompanied by a video of her grandmother, Brunilda, which was recorded just days before she passed away from Alzheimer’s Disease.
We could not have been prouder of Laurie for working through what must have been an insanely difficult performance to come out with a perfect score! The judges clearly loved the raw emotion that the gymnast threw into the dance and so did we. Our hearts go out to Laurie and her family tonight, and we want to congratulate her on an amazing performance.
After doing so well in the semi-finals, Laurie and Val now have a chance to go the distance in the competitive dancing show. We are sure that Laurie would love to win DWTS now for her grandmother, and to show the world what strength can come out of grief. Laurie has already proven to be a fighter and we know she’ll keep going all season long!
