Donald Trump and Megyn Kelly had one of the nastiest feuds of the 2016 election, and on Nov. 14 Megyn opened up to Dr. Phil about what sparked the infamous battle, and it involves Donald ‘screaming’ at her! See for yourself, right here.
“I’ve never gotten into this but there was a backstory to that moment,” explained Megyn Kelly, 45, when she stopped by Dr. Phil on Nov. 14. She’s talking about the notorious comment made after the first Republican primary debate when Donald Trump, 70, said she had “blood coming out of her wherever,” because she asked about his treatment of women.
Apparently, Donald was fuming over “one of the stories that broke about him,” in which his ex-wife Ivana Trump “had under oath accused him of raping her. She later recanted that testimony but the news broke.” So, Megyn did what any journalist would. She reported on it! “I had a reporter on my show and Trump was not happy.”
“Four days before the presidential debate that has become so well known, he called me up and threatened me,” said Megyn. She then explained that she can’t pick her topics to please him. “Mr Trump, I’m sorry that you are unhappy, but you don’t control the editorial on The Kelly File,” explained Megyn.
Donald’s response was exactly what we would expect, and what he always does when he doesn’t get his way. “He started screaming at me, he hung up the phone and the next time that we met was that Wednesday night (for the debate.)” Yikes! Now, Megyn explains that she has mended her relationship with Donald and that she has “a good relationship with his children, with his wife.” Maybe she can work with them to teach him respect.
