We’re giving you a full recap, so keep reading to see what happened on the Nov. 14 episode of DWTS!
First up, James Hinchcliffe was reunited with an injured Sharna Burgess to kick off the night. They did an Argentine Tango with Sharna blindfolded. It ended with James doing a handstand on a chair! Julianne Hough said “that was absolutely sensational…you guys never shy away from taking risks and it completely worked in your favor tonight.” Bruno Tonioli said his skill and trust in his partner was amazing. Carrie Ann Inaba said it was well done. They got a 29 out of 30! Amazing!
Next, Terra Jolé and Sasha Farber took the dance floor for a rumba. She got a standing ovation! Bruno said, “Terra, you really are terrific. Your hips, honey! Oh my god! We really admire you. You show us with determination, you can achieve anything.” Carrie Ann was in tears, saying “you take my breath away.” Julianne was also filled with emotion and said her hip action was great and said it was her best dance of the season. They got a perfect score of 30!
Next, Jana Kramer and Gleb Savchenko danced a Quickstep. Carrie Ann she has come the furthest of all the competitors. Julianne said it was a proper Quickstep and loved her technique. Bruno said it was “elegant, glamorous and slick.” They got a 28!
Calvin Johnson Jr. and Lindsay Arnold performed an intense Tango to “Seven Nation Army.” Julianne saw a big mistake but said she finally saw some passion rather than a brother-sister relationship. Bruno said “you went for it with such power and determination…at times, you have so much inside you that you want to express, you stumble a bit.” Carrie Ann gave him an A for effort. They got a 26!
Finally, Laurie Hernandez and Valentin Chmerkovskiy did a Foxtrot after the most emotional package I’ve ever seen. Laurie’s grandmother died this week after a battle with alzheimer’s disease. Laurie was crying during the dance and broke down completely when it was finished. Carrie Ann said she delivered the dance with more passion than she has ever seen. Julianne said her grandmother is smiling down on her. Bruno said she looked like she was being glided by an angel. Host Tom Bergeron said “that was the most amazing display of courage I’ve seen in 23 seasons.” They got a perfect 30. I am literally SOBBING.
Next, the trio round.
James, Sharna and Jenna did an amazing race-car themed Jive! “That is one hot pit crew!,” Julianne said. Bruno said he never lost timing and he loved it. Carrie Ann said the unison was perfect. They got a perfect 30.
Terra, Sasha and Artem danced next. “Saucy little vixen! You were the star of the show,” Bruno said. Carrie Ann said she “slayed her.” Julianne sang, “This girl is on fireeeee!” Julianne said she changed tonight and was amazing. They got a perfect 30!
Jana, Gleb and Alan danced a Paso Doble. Carrie Ann said “That was truly artistry in motion.” Julianne called her the Queen of the ballroom. Bruno said it was sexy as hell! They got a perfect 30!
Lindsay, Cavin and Witney danced a super sexy Salsa with tons of amazing lifts! Julianne said their commitment was amazing and the dance was pure fun. Bruno said this is what DWTS is all about — telling people to enjoy dancing. Carrie Ann said it was incredible and so fun. They got a 30!
Finally, Laurie, Val and Maks did an AMAZING Samba. Bruno said it was deliciously theatrical. Carrie Ann said it was, by far, her best dance ever! Julianne called her a proper Latin dancer. They got a 30!
In the end, we had to say goodbye to Terra Jole and Sasha.
