No way! A group of good samaritan bikers pulled over in New Jersey to help a fellow rider broken down on the side of the road, only to find out it was Bruce Springsteen! The starstruck dudes and the Boss wound up having an amazing day together.
A group of bikers from American Legion Post 54, an organization that supports veterans, was heading home from a Veterans Day service in Holmdel, New Jersey on November 11, when they decided to take the scenic route home through the gorgeous Allaire State Park. Dan Barkalow, Bob Grigs, and Ryan Bailey were nearing Freehold, New Jersey, when they spotted a man broken down by the side of the road with his motorcycle totally shot.
They pulled over to help and found out they were assisting Bruce Springsteen! They tried to get his bike started again, but couldn’t revive his dead battery. So, Bruce hopped on the back of one of the guys’ bikes, and they headed off to a local bar! Can you imagine?
The group shared a round of beers with the music legend, who was so grateful for the rescue, as he waited for his ride to come pick him up. Before leaving, he took down their names and numbers, and said something that totally shocked the guys: “[Bruce] said, ‘If I’m ever in the area I’ll get you tickets for the show.’ It was pretty neat,” Ryan told CNN.
Seriously, for a group of New Jersey boys, this is beyond incredible, more meaningful than for anyone else in the country! “It’s a day I probably won’t forget for a while,” Dan, 54, told CNN. “The moment I got off the bike I saw it was him, and he was a real nice, down-to-earth guy.”
