1. He’s currently the chairman of the Republican National Committee (RNC).

Reince Priebus, 44, is currently the chairman of the Republican National Committee (RNC). He has been in this position since 2011, and is responsible for creating and promoting the Republican party’s political platform. He is also responsible for organizing and running the Republican National Convention.

2. He’s credited with helping nationally known Republicans into power on the state level.

Reince has previously served as the RNC’s general counsel, and is also the former chairman of the Republican Party of Wisconsin. While in those positions he helped Paul Ryan, Speaker of the House, and Scott Walker, Governor of Wisconsin, get into power on the state level and become nationally recognized.

3. He has a legal background.

In 1998, he graduated with a degree from the University of Miami’s law school. While at the law school he served as president of the student body. After graduating he moved to Wisconsin where he passed the State Bar, and joined a law firm where he became partner in 2006.

4. He married his high school sweetheart.

Reince met his wife, Sally, in high school and took her to the prom. The couple wed in 1999 and have two children together.

5. His appointment as Donald Trump’s White House Chief of Staff is going to ruffle some feathers.

The president-elect’s decision to choose Reince as his White House Chief of Staff is most likely going to upset his seriously conservative supporters, who expected him to fight the establishment over issues that are important to them — including taxes, immigration, trade, health care and the environment. Those conservative supporters of Donald could see Reince as a “deal maker” who will work toward compromises.
