After a tension-filled week following the 2016 presidential election, Dave Chappelle stopped by ‘Saturday Night Live’ on Nov. 12 and gave the audience every bit of comedic relief they’ve been craving! The star went all-out for the opening monologue, dropping the N-word and mocking Donald Trump’s scandal!
Dave Chappelle, 43, may be getting a call from the FCC! The stand-up comedian served as the host on the Nov. 12 episode of Saturday Night Live, treating fans to the ultimate political satire while gracing the 8H stage.
Only a few days after the highly controversial 2016 presidential election, Dave didn’t skip a beat when blasting Donald Trump, serving the audience with some vital laughs and hard-hitting commentary. He even addressed the President-Elect’s infamous Access Hollywood tape where he said “Grab ’em by the p*ssy.” Dave joked, “America has elected an internet troll as our President. I haven’t seen whites this mad since OJ Simpson.”
This marks one of Dave’s first high-profile gigs since ending Chappelle’s Show a decade ago and let’s just say, he’s still got it going on! He continued, “I know it’s been a long time so, please be patient. I didn’t know that Donald was going to win the election, but I did suspect it. It seemed like Hillary Clinton was doing well in the polls, yet I know the whites. You guys aren’t as full of surprises as you used to be… All the blacks in America are now praying for Omarosa.” But Dave did leave off on a good note, saying, “I’m wishing Donald luck and I’m going to give him chance, and we historically the disenfranchised need a chance too.”
Chris Rock also stopped by for a hilarious sketch about voter shock after the election and it was EVERYTHING! In the promo, Dave quipped about not showing up for the NBC sketch series while standing alongside A Tribe Called Quest, but fans knew he would deliver and surpass all expectations. SNL star Mikey Day even took to Twitter to voice his excitement over Dave’s appearance. He wrote on Nov. 11, “If anyone can bring a divided country together to laugh for a while, it’s Dave freaking Chappelle.” We couldn’t agree more! Dave always challenges cultural norms and that’s just one of the reasons people love him so much.
