Let’s get ready to rumble! Ronda Rousey came face-to-face with her upcoming opponent, women’s champion Amanda Nunes, for the first time at the UFC 205 weigh-ins on Nov. 11 and things got INTENSE. See their serious stare down here.
Ronda Rousey and Amanda Nunes will go head-to-head for the bantamweight title at UFC 207 on Dec. 30, a pretty big deal for Ronda, who has been out of commission for over a year after suffering a serious knockout kick to the head courtesy of Holly Holm.
Amanda and Ronda met face-to-face for the first time, Ronda kept a stone cold grimace on the entire time in front of a loud crowd in Madison Square Garden. After the stare down mellowed (as much as it could), the women were separated and Joe Rogan, a UFC commentator, asked Amanda about the fight. “I’ve been training for this girl my whole career in the UFC,” she said. “Now I have the chance to defend my belt against her. It’s going to be amazing.”
As for how Ronda reacted, the UFC president Dana White attempted to keep her on stage after the stare down, but she was not having it, and stormed off silently. Clearly, she’s taking this thing REALLY seriously. And can you blame her with this being her first showdown in a long time? And, possibly her last!
As HollywoodLife.com previously reported, the longest reigning women’s champion in UFC history told Ellen DeGeneres that her fight against Amanda was going to be “one of her last” trips into the Octagon. But it could be her very last as well. Now we just need to wait six more weeks to see how this whole thing between Amanda and Ronda plays out!
