The thought of a Donald Trump presidency has millions of people shaking in fear! We can’t overturn the decision, but we can help women, LGBTQ, and minorities being affected!
The results are in and Donald Trump, 70, will be the 45th President of the United States after defeating Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton, 69, on Election Day. Many voters are terrified by his presidency primarily because of his sexist, racist, and bigoted policy plans that will directly affects women, minorities, the LGBTQ, and immigrant communities. SO terrible.
But as Hillary noted in her concession speech on Nov. 9, that doesn’t mean we should give up “fighting for what is right.” So keeping that in mind, HollywoodLife.com has come up with some great ways voters can help and donate to causes that protect the communities being affected.
The best way to counteract Trump’s problematic plans is to get out their and volunteer. There are plenty of organizations that are dedicated to bettering life for specific communities that need your help!
Council on American-Islamic Relations: Trump previously claimed that he wanted to ban Muslims from entering the country. Support Muslims and combat Islamaphobia!
Showing Up For Racial Justice: Fight racism and discrimination. Donald Trump reportedly insists on a law and order system that employs methods that will target minorities.
Immigration Reform: The president-elect wants to build a giant wall along the U.S.-Mexican border to prevent Mexican immigrants from entering the country.
If you can’t get out there to volunteer, many of these organizations can also use the money to help push their initiatives forward.
Planned Parenthood: help PP continue to support women’s reproductive rights, provide health care, and sex education.
RAINN: No more grabbing women! This organization is dedicated to combating sexual violence and catching the criminals committing the vicious acts!
ACLU: Protect the individual rights and liberties guaranteed by the Constitution for everyone!
