If you haven’t gotten your tickets to check out Cole Swindell on his Down Home Tour — get on that! The country star is the the headliner for this year’s CMT On Tour, and after checking out the show in New York City, we have to say…he was the perfect pick!
Cole Swindell, 33, took the stage at Terminal 5 in the Big Apple on Nov. 9, and he completely brought down the house. The 33-year-old had the audience’s attention for his entire hour-long set, which included his six hit singles, and even songs from his latest release, Down Home Sessions III, which just dropped on Oct. 28. We were fully invested and singing along the entire time!
Stars like Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean, Thomas Rhett and more have been headliners for CMT On Tour in the past, which is obviously a good sign for the singer’s future success. As a previous opening act for huge stars like Luke, Jason and Florida Georgia Line, Cole’s obviously had some great country music role models to look up to, and he’s sure to be well on his way to being in the ranks of these superstars after wrapping up his time on the road. He’s not slowing down anytime soon, either — at the beginning of 2017, he’ll hit the road once again as an opener for Dierks Bentley!
Let’s not forget, too, that before Cole was a solo act, he was a super successful songwriter. Ever heard of Luke Bryan’s hits “Roller Coaster,” “Beer In The Headlights” and “Love In A College Town”? He wrote those, among others, like Thomas Rhett’s “Get Me Some Of That” and Florida Georgia Line’s “This Is How We Roll.” Cole’s already had some incredible success, but after checking him out on the Down Home Tour, I can confidently say that the best is yet to come!
