The iconic red cups are back — but with a fun twist! Starbucks revealed there will be 13 new themed cups, 12 of which are intended for hot beverages, and one for cold drinks this holiday season. Customers will be able to purchase any of the unique cups starting Nov. 10, meaning a new Instagram trend could be starting up very soon. The cup designs were actually inspired from the Red Cup Contest in 2015, so it’s been a long time coming. The company asked customers to create their own holiday cup and favorites were selected out of 1,200 submissions in 13 countries!

Customers definitely hit home with all the Christmas references in their intrinsic designs, featuring detailed snowflakes, reindeer, bobsleds, frilly ornaments and more! The winning designs came from all over the world, ranging from Germany, to Philadelphia and Canada. “People will be walking around the street in Shanghai, New York and London carrying these cups,” Dena Blevins, Starbucks’ creative director, said in a statement. “We love that this year our customers’ artistry can play a part in brightening someone’s day.”
Many avid Starbucks drinkers are thrilled with the new designs and color, launching the hashtag “TeamRedCup.” The coffee company came out with a new green cup on Nov. 1, right when they started serving their beloved classics like the Caramel Brulée Latte, Chestnut Praline Latte, and Peppermint Mocha. But the cup has a much more symbolic value that upon first sight, inspired by the high-tension 2016 election. The green cup is a reportedly a “symbol of unity as a reminder of our shared values.” Love it!
