We definitely didn’t see this coming. Many voters were shocked Nov. 9 as they watched Mike Pence give his victory speech as the new Vice President of the United States after Donald Trump won the presidency in a shocking upset. See his comments, right here.
Honestly, we’re stunned to be writing this, but Mike Pence, 57, will officially be the next Vice President of America, and clearly he’s thrilled. The Indiana governor stood before a sea of Donald Trump supporters in the early hours of Nov. 9 and gushed about how excited he was to take up his new post.
“This is a historic night. The American people have spoken and the American people have elected their new champion,” Mike told the boisterous crowd in New York City. “America has elected a new president and it’s almost hard for me to express the honor that I and my family feel that I will be able to serve as your Vice President of the United States of America.”
The deeply religious politician said, “I come to this moment deeply humbled, grateful to God for his amazing grace,” before thanking his family. “I’m deeply grateful to the American people for placing their confidence in this team and giving us the opportunity to serve.”
Then the big moment came where he introduced Donald, “Whose vision and leadership will make America great again. It is my high honor and esteemed privilege to introduce to you the President Elect of the United States of America, Donald Trump,” and with those words out came our new leader.
We’re sure Mike is relieved right about now. He’s stuck by Donald during each and every one of his appalling controversies, and it seems to have paid off for him. We thought he might actually bail after Mike cancelled a bunch of rallies with Donald and appearances following the infamous “grab them by the p***y video,” but he hung in there and now he’s a winner. And the rest of us are stunned.
HollywoodLifers, what did you think of Mike’s victory speech? Are you stunned that he’s the new Vice President? Share your thoughts with us!
