Um, ‘Gilmore Girls’ might have actually jinx Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential election. Lorelai Gilmore was always outspoken about politics and even said that Hillary would be the president one day. But did Lorelai’s prediction end up cursing Hillary in 2016?!
Back in 2004, the episode “A Messenger, Nothing More” aired that showed Lorelai (Lauren Graham) telling Luke (Scott Patterson), “See you when Hillary’s president!” Luke’s return date from the Renaissance Fair circuit kept getting delayed, and Lorelai used the joke to tell Luke she wouldn’t be seeing him for a while.
Before the election, many fans thought that Gilmore Girls was actually predicting the 2016 election. After all, the show foreshadowed President Obama’s historic win in 2008 when Rory (Alexis Bledel) went to work for him at the end of the series. However, in this situation, Lorelai’s words may have ended up jinxing Hillary, 69?!
Upon further analysis, Lorelai could have been saying that Hillary would never be president, or it would just be a while until it happened. Hillary could very well run again in 2020 and win, and Lorelai’s words could come true 16 years later. This is just a lot to take in.
As we all now know, Hillary did not become the 45th President of the United States. Donald Trump, 70, beat Hillary in what would have been a historic moment for America. Hillary would have been the first female president. Lorelai and Rory are likely in mourning like the rest of Hillary’s supporters. The mother-daughter duo were supporters of Hillary long before she ran for president. Rory raved about Hillary being “smart and tough” in the 2002 episode “Application Anxiety.”
Despite the disappointing results of the election, for those of you who voted for Hillary, at least there’s only 16 days until Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life hits Netflix!
