It seems like just yesterday we learned that Hillary Clinton, 68, and Donald Trump, 70, were battle for their place as the nominee of the Democratic and Republican parties, and now here we are, choosing between them once and for all. 11:00 am EST Donald casts his vote in New York City and is booed by voters when he arrives.
3:oo pm EST Taylor Swift, Justin Timberlake, Katy Perry, and dozens more stars went to the polls in Los Angeles and all around the country to support their candidate (mostly Hillary). See all of them right here.
5:00 pm EST First exit polls begin coming out. 54% of people say they this Obama did a good job while only 4 out of 10 are excited to have Hillary OR Donald as president. 7 out of 10 said they didn’t like how the government is run, and over 60% of voters said they knew who they’d vote for before Sept, according to CNN.
6:00 pm EST Colorado’s voting system went down for 30 mins, forcing officials to investigate what wet wrong.
6:00 pm EST Shots rang out at a polling place in Azusa, CA. The active gunman allegedly killed one and three injured.
6:15 pm EST First results begin coming through: Donald leading by a wide margin in Kentucky and Indiana, and a small margin in New Hampshire.
7:30 pm EST Projections call Donald the winner of Indiana, West Virginia and Kentucky, while Hillary takes Vermont. Donald leads narrowly in Florida, New Hampshire, and Virginia, and widely in Georgia. South Carolina is in a dead heat.
8:00 pm EST Donald has a small lead over Hillary in North Carolina and Ohio. Hillary won Illinois, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, D.C. Delaware, and Maryland. Trump took Oklahoma, Tennessee and Mississippi.
8:30 pm EST Donald projected as winner of South Carolina and Alabama.
9:00 pm EST Trump takes Kansas, Nebraska, Texas, Arkansas and Wyoming. Hillary wins New York.
9:30 pm EST Hillary wins Connecticut. Donald runs away with Louisiana. Donald still has very tiny lead over Hillary in Florida.
10:00 pm EST Donald won Montana. Still too close or early to call in Iowa, Nevada, and Utah. Hillary won New Mexico while Donald took Missouri.
10:30 pm EST Donald wins Ohio after a very close race. Hillary has major win in Virginia.
11:00 pm EST Hillary takes Colorado, California (duh) and Hawaii. Donald won Kansas, North Carolina, Idaho, and South Dakota, gets close win over Hillary in Florida for a whopping 29 electoral votes.
11:30 pm EST Hillary wins Oregon and Washington. Donald took Georgia.
12:00 am EST Donald wins Iowa.
12:30 am EST Hillary takes Nevada.
1:00 am EST Donald Wins Utah.
1:30 am EST Donald takes Alaska and Pennsylvania, basically securing presidency.
