Former Happy Days stars Ron Howard, 62, Marion Ross, 88, Anson Williams, 67, and Don Most, 63, Laverne & Shirley stars Penny Marshall, 73, and Cindy Williams, 69, and Mork & Mindy star Pam Dawber, 65, will be joining Matthew Perry, 47, and Thomas Lennon, 46, on the tribute episode of The Odd Couple.
Garry developed the original Odd Couple, which ran from 1970 to 1975. The Nov. 7 episode, titled “Taffy Days,” of The Odd Couple will follow Oscar as he reconnects with people from Walter’s life when he agrees to carry out his father’s final wish to spread his ashes behind the candy factory he used to own. Garry played Walter in a previous episode.
Garry served as executive consultant on the series up until his death in July 2016 at the age of 81. Hollywood mourned the loss of such a iconic legend. In addition to creating shows like Happy Days and Laverne & Shirley, he directed classic films like Pretty Woman, The Princess Diaries, Beaches, Runaway Bride and more.
“The writing staff and everyone on The Odd Couple reboot was thrilled when Garry Marshall joined us as a producer because his shows were part of our TV DNA,” executive producer Bob Daily in a statement. “He was a kind, generous presence on the set, and we loved him dearly. And when we lost him, we knew we had to do something to honor his legacy — something that, like Garry’s work, was both heartfelt and zany. We are so grateful that the stars of these classic shows are able to join us in honoring him.”
