Click ahead for details on three easy looks.
We’re all for making life a little easier, especially as the busy holiday season approaches. Between all of the time we’ll be spending traveling to our families and friends by bus, train or plane and trying to squeeze in our usual gym sessions and errands amongst all of the holiday parties, we need all the help we can get. That’s why celebrity hairstylist Riawna Capri teamed up with Beats by Dr. Dre. The Nine Zero One Salon co-owner is also the stylist behind all of your favorite celebrities’ looks — from Jennifer Lawrence‘s platinum pixie to Selena Gomez‘s Revival tour cut to Julianne Hough‘s ever-changing updos each week on Dancing With The Stars.
To help us all sport our best hair possible, Riawna dreamed up three hair looks that will take you from your on-the-go look to party-ready. First up, Riawna’s jet set look above, which is perfect if you want to wear your hair loose after traveling. To get tousled waves after hours on a plane, flip your hair to the opposite side you usually part it and use your headphones to hold the front section of your hair forward to create volume. Then split the rest of your hair into two equal sections at the back and twist and pin into two knots at the nape of your neck. Once you’ve reached your destination, let your hair loose and you’re ready to go.
If you want a workout-friendly style that can carry over into your everyday life, try Riawna’s circuit braid style, here. Since braids hold better when you workout than buns or ponytails, according to Riawna, she says to start by taking a small section at the front of your hair and creating a ponytail that gets braided into a classic three-strand braid. Repeat with a second braided pony, then join them together into one giant pony at the nape of your neck that you finish off with another three-strand braid.
Last up, if you need a quick party look, Riawna says to try her knotted threesome style, here, which she created for thick curly hair types. “The holiday party look is a perfect style to create when you are running from work (day) to an event (night), where you don’t have time to access styling tools like a blow dryer or curling iron,” Riawna told us. “Pulling your hair off your face gives you an instant freshened-up feel while keeping it feminine with a half-up do.”
To get the look, start by dividing the front section of your hair into two small sections that you tie into a knot the the back of your head and pin into place. Repeat two more times, and you’ll be left with a deceivingly intricate style that actually only takes seconds to create.
