Leave it to The Weeknd to steal the show! The singer wowed the crowd at the 2016 MTV EMAs with an epic rendition of his hit ‘Starboy.’ Slay, boy, slay!
The Weeknd, 26, took to the stage at the MTV EMAs on Nov. 6 and brought down the house. The stage was set up with a huge dome so it looked like The Weeknd was amongst the stars. He transported us to a whole new world with his incredible voice. The Weeknd sounded amazing and looked amazing singing his new single for his upcoming album.
Shawn Mendes, 18, Lukas Graham, 28, Martin Garrix, 20, DNCE, Zara Larsson, 18, OneRepublic, and Bruno Mars, 31, also performed during the Europe Music Awards in Rotterdam, Netherlands. Now that’s one incredible lineup of performers!
The Weeknd is up for three major awards this year — Best Video, Best Male and Best Canadian Act. He’s getting ready to drop his third album, Starboy, on Nov. 25. He recently performed “Starboy” and “False Alarm” on Saturday Night Live.
This year has been a year of change for The Weeknd. He cut off his signature dreadlocks in favor of a shorter ‘do. He revealed in a new interview while he decided to cut his hair.
“It didn’t feel right anymore, because it ended up becoming a trademark,” he told The Wall Street Journal. “I told everybody I was getting rid of it, and everybody—literally, unanimously—they were like, ‘No, don’t do it! That’s your whole thing, that’s you.’ And the way they said that, I was like, ‘Oh, I’m definitely cutting it now.’”
