We can’t stop watching this! A bride and her father totally surprised wedding guests when they performed a seriously AMAZING dance to NSYNC and MC Hammer, a mashup we never knew we needed! We have the epic video, and all the details, here.
Mikayla Ellison Phillips and her father, Nathan Ellison, showed off some seriously impressive dance moves at Mikayla’s wedding in Utah, no doubt totally surprising and impressing all their 400 guests. Mikayla, 25, who is a trained dancer, began by slow dancing with her father to the wedding classic “Butterfly Kisses.” As you can see in the video, the pair sweetly dance before the music suddenly changes to an amazing mash-up of NSYNC‘s 1999 smash single “Bye Bye Bye” and MC Hammer‘s classic 1990 single “U Can’t Touch This.” The two songs actually sound incredible together, and we just wish that we could download it on iTunes!
The happy bride — who met her husband as dance partners on the International Folk Dance Ensemble at Brigham Young University — explained that she and her dad actually practiced the routine for a week leading up to the big event. Still, her favorite part of the dance, Mikayla revealed, was seeing how happy it made her dad. “I’m the oldest and the only girl so that was my dad’s only chance to do something like this,” she told ABC News. “He for years has talked about doing that and he finally convinced me. I think since we’d talked about it for years that it was pretty easy for it to come together. The most fun thing was seeing my dad and how happy he was. That was a dream fulfilled.” So sweet!
The epic video has since gone viral, and for good reason — it’s so fun and the dance is amazing! While Mikayla admitted she’s happy about its popularity, it’s not her favorite part from her wedding. “The actual best part of that day was marrying my best friend,” she explained.
