From 90’s heart-throb to hunky baseball catcher, Mark-Paul Gosselaar has done it all! You may know him from ‘Pitch’ and ‘Saved By the Bell,’ but there’s much more to learn about this hunky actor! Find out below.
We have been crushing on Mark-Paul Gosselaar, 42, ever since he first popped up on our TV screens as Zack Morris in NBC’s Saved By the Bell. And the rest is history! Now, the hot actor is winning us over with his new role in the drama series, Pitch! But before you go binge-watching the hot new show, allow us to reintroduce Mark to you all with five fast facts you HAVE to know!
1. Mark-Paul began a career in Hollywood at a really young age.
Mark-Paul has been in show biz since he was five years old! Now, that is a long time! Under his mother’s management, Mark began modeling in various commercial ads for Oreo cookies and Smurf merchandise. His modeling gigs ultimately helped him land small roles on TV.
2. He dated all three of his female cast mates from Saved by the Bell.
While Tiffani Thiessen’s, 42, character, Kelly stole Zack’s heart away on screen, it turns out Mark-Paul was quite the playboy. In the Saved By the Bell anniversary cover story with People in 2009, Mark-Paul revealed that he had dated all three of his female co-stars —Lark Voorhies, Tiffani Thiessen, and Elizabeth Berkley, while filming the show. “All of us dated at one point or another—it was incestuous,” he told the magazine. Even so, Mark and Lark’s relationship reportedly lasted the longest of any fling on the show. They dated the majority of filming for three years.
3. Mark-Paul loves speed racing!
Mark has a need for speed! The actor has noted that he is a total adrenaline junkie, and often likes to pass time car-racing, cycling, and dirt biking.

4. His bushy beard is not his usual fashion statement.
For the Saved fanatics, you probably remember Mark as a blonde with a clean-shaven face, not the scruffy brunette that he is today. Well for the record, the beard is all part of getting into character for his role as Mike Lawson in Pitch. “The beard came more from [executive producer] Dan Fogelman seeing me and saying, ‘Would you be opposed to looking like you don’t normally look,'” Mark-Paul told HollywoodLife.com in an EXCLUSIVE interview. “He didn’t want to distract the viewer watching, and going, ‘Oh my gosh, that’s Mark-Paul Gosselar playing the catcher.’ I think it takes people a second to see it’s me, and that’s important for something like this. It’s about Ginny Baker.”
5. Starring in Pitch has opened his eyes to the possibilities for his own daughter.
While Mark is having a blast filming with the Pitch cast, he revealed to HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY that the series, which is about a woman making it into major league baseball, is really impactful for women everywhere! He said portraying a woman entering the major league’s is an “important” story to “tell my daughters: ‘hey you can’t compete with men, but you can be just as good as them by finding other ways around the situation.’” That is SO true!
