OMG! We are SO excited Drake and Taylor Swift are planning to make music together! But have they been working with each other for years now? Here’s the evidence they might have been collaborating this whole time!
Our mind is blown! Rumors have been swirling that Taylor Swift, 26, and Drake, 30, have been working in the studio on a new collaboration together, and we are basically bursting at the seams for something to drop! But, new reports have leaked suggesting a Drake x Tay Tay collab has already happened!
While the rumored couple have never been featured on a song together, it turns out the artists, who are both known for wearing their hearts on their sleeves, have practically been speaking to each other on their own singles, according to E! News. New evidence actually suggests the performers have been putting out variations of the exact same song for years now.
Here is a prime example. On Taylor’s anti-haters anthem, “Shake It Off,” the singer-songwriter belts out lyrics about not paying any mind to the haters chatting in the background while she keeps on dancing. “It’s like I got this music / In my mind / Saying, ‘It’s gonna be alright’/ ‘Cause the players gonna play, play, play, play, play / And the haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate / Baby, I’m just gonna shake, shake, shake, shake, shake / I shake it off, I shake it off,” she sings.
And on Drake’s 2009 song “Congratulations,” he basically says some variation of what Taylor says in “Shake It Off.” “And I can’t hear the critics / Talkin over the applause / Yeah I tried to tell em future let em know/ Sending haters all my love X and O/ I got a black box wear suggestions go / But I don’t really give a f**k,” he raps. Are we the only ones seeing the similarities here? Both of them are talking about their haters trying to get the best of them, but they’ve each found perfect ways to blow them off!
And this is only one great example, but there are so many more. Fans can also find similarities in their singles, such as Drake’s “Holtine Bling” and Tay’s “Forever & Always,” as well as Taylor’s “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” and Drake’s “Own It.” Another central theme between the two artists is heartbreak.
Whew, our heads are spinning right now! And all this lyrical analysis is making us even more excited for them to release something new. Drake recently shared a pic of him and the singer in the studio together with their backs turned, and sources say the collaboration will be far from anything fans have heard, E! reported. But something tells us we can still expect the signature Drake and Taylor touch. After all, they’re one in the same!
HollywoodLifers, do you think this proves Drake and Taylor have always been collaborating with each other in some form?
