Things are getting heated! Brad Pitt has FINALLY responded to Angelina Jolie’s divorce filing and he’s now seeking joint custody of their six children. The ‘By The Sea’ actress previously sought sole physical custody, meaning an all-out battle is brewing. Get the details here.
Brad Pitt, 52, isn’t going to give up seeing his children without a fight. The actor countered divorce documents that were originally filed by Angelina Jolie, 41, on Sept. 19. He’s now requesting that he gets joint custody of their six kids, according to TMZ, officially filing his divorce documents on Nov. 4. Angelina originally asked for Brad to only have visitation rights to their children, meaning that she didn’t want them living with him. However, the famous pair does agree on the same separation date, Sept. 15, and neither of them have addressed spousal or child support at least yet.
Angelina reportedly decided to file for sole custody after an alleged dispute between her ex of twelve years and their son Maddox, 15, on a private jet. Since their highly publicized split, Brad was placed under investigation from the Department of Child Services following accusations that he was physically and verbally abusive. However, there is still a chance the case could be dropped due to insufficient evidence. The Allied actor’s response to the documents comes shortly after their “temporary” custody agreement ended on Oct. 20, so things could change rather soon.
As we previously reported, lawyer Kelly Chang Rickert told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY that she believes Brangelina will ultimately share legal and physical custody. “It is absolutely ridiculous to think either of them will end up with NO visitation or custody of the children, visitation and custody are the same in California courts. When you have visitation, you have custody.” We hope this all gets squared away, especially for the sake of the kids!
